Questions about data degradation?

Can any digital files saved on a hard drive or SSD / usb stick or CDs / DVDs and blu rays / servers get degraded? If so are there anyways to fix that or reverse that ? Also can that happen to digital files stored via onedrive or google drive or Dropbox or mega etc ? Lastly what’s a good backup plan if something goes wrong with my data in cloud storage say a provider shuts down or goes bankrupt or my files get lost etc etc is there recovery methods for those digital files in cloud storage?
