New York Life vs. Wells Fargo

Hi all. I'm looking for some advice from anyone who has had experience with New York Life as a Financal Professional and/or Wells Fargo as an Associate Financial Advisor. I've been offered positions at both institutions. I do have nearly a year experience in the industry. I am looking to get out on my own as I don't love the firm I'm at and am in an operations role despite the notion of becoming an advisor. New York Life does provide a salary but only after I do a predetermined amount of business then i receive a small salary plus commission. Wells Fargo has an immediate base salary plus commission.
