Parents nowadays are entitled and allergic to any sort of responsibility that comes with parenting

They seem to think the whole world revolves around their needs because they're tired/are parents/you're momshaming me/you'll understand when you have kids/parents can make a mistake etc. The mistake one gets thrown around a lot. Funny thing is they seem to equate 'so what parents can't make a mistake' with 'said parent doesn't have to take accountability for said mistake'. You OWN up to a mistake. They don't. Majority of them just assume the general public that they're in will just take care of their kids, ergo someone else is to blame for what happened. They love to point fingers and say who around is to blame when something goes wrong:

  • The kid destroyed something? Well maybe the store/venue shouldn't have had delicate things in kids reach, should've childproofed
  • the kid almost drank pipe cleaner bc they were unsupervised in the store? Stores fault, shouldn't be in kid's reach, add in suing the company for the product looking appealing to children/being too easy to open etc. Should've childproofed
  • venues that obviously don't cater to young children have non kid friendly content? 'Well what if a child sees them??'
  • kid does badly in school? It's not little Timmy's or mine fault, teacher is to blame. (Doesn't matter the parents pay no attention if their kid is doing homework/studying at all and don't show up to the pt conferences)
  • kid wrecking havoc in a restaurant and ruining everyone else's meal, running into staff, screaming, trying to go to the off limits parts like the kitchen? 'so what you just expect parents to never have anything nice?'

It's almost as if places that are not supposed to have children roaming freely, unsupervised are not prepared for said children roaming freely. The places in which the parent is supposed to supervise their child. All these situations have one thing in common, the parents not parenting and expecting the environment to do it for them, then refusing to take any responsibility for when it doesn't.
