144hz monitor and kvm switch mindbend

Tech Support

So I have this 144hz monitor who only works at 144hz through the DisplayPort cable, the kvm switch I bought supports 144hz, but only has HDMI ports.

Since hdmi to display port (and vice versa) are uni directionals I have trouble wrapping my head around what I need exactly. Like when they say "Display port to hdmi", is it from monitor to GPU (or in this case, to the kvm switch) or from GPU to monitor. Wich one count as the source? IMO the source is the GPU since it's what send the frames, but I can't find any confirmation.

If my assumption is correct, here's what I'm thinking :

Regular HDMI cable from GPU to the KVM switch, then, HDMI to display port adapter/cable ( that support 144hz at 2k) from the KVM switch to the monitor

Do you guys think it would work, am I missing something?
