Why do people force letter y in any and every name these days?

To sound cool? Because it looks prettier in cursive (who cares)? What’s up with the letter y obsession folks? It’s not a vowel so don’t use as one. Adylynn? Curious to see more such examples and see far we’ve gone with this 😅
