What to feed feeder crickets?

I’ve been keeping tarantulas for a couple years now and I always get feeders from the pet store. Well I decided to get a bunch of them and put them in a small tub ,And just keep my own feeders so I don’t have to get them at the store. The only problem is I don’t have any vegetables or fruits so I gave them cat food. Is that safe for my t’s?
