Whats in Garin's Muzânakun?

Are the recipes in it vital to progression, or can I skip it for now? Im gonna go completionist eventually either way, but im having a hard time finding the last 4 carvings for it. Its odd because I didn't struggle in any other region, I always found plenty of extra.
