How to tell if a Deity is reaching out to me, and which one

I have been a pagan for at least 3 years now, although my first year I was living at home and did not get the opportunity to practice much. I have been working on my spirituality for years and have done a lot more [very simple] rituals and prayed more. For the past year or so I have felt a connection with a certain unknown force that has very slowly made itself present to me. I am agnostic polytheistic and have communicated with Jesus before but otherwise have not interacted with any deities. I was praying yesterday and really felt a connection once I was centred and felt that unknown force invite me to feel their welcoming presence in a way. I saw a faint image of a figure but I am completely unsure of what I am dealing with here. The force doesn’t feel like a spirit, but I have only interacted with a very few number of spirits in my life. I went to search online if there is any way to tell for sure who or what exactly is “reaching out” to me (like some sort of divination) but I haven’t been able to find anything. I’ve very gradually “interacted” in a way more and more with this force for about a year like I said, and I feel like the connection is growing to where I can start to try to identify but I just have no idea how to go about doing that or where to start. If I’m being completely honest I’m a little impatient since I’ve been getting small bits of feedback/information for so long and now recently a much bigger feedback. I do know I should be patient but I also want to learn more.
