What's with the hate for early 2000s babies?

Discussion

Maybe it's cause I'm '99 so I'm pretty much there. I feel like some of you born in 96/97, based on apparent experiences, have had some negative episodes with these people but I personally have a different side. Growing up, the kids at the basketball courts ranged from 96-02 babies. Yeah, the 02s were pretty young at the time (this was the early 2010s) but I never felt any sort of mass disconnect from them.

Have a lot of friends born in 00 and 01. We get along with no problem. Yeah sometimes there will be the playful joke about us being old or them being babies. There is like no difference between us. My coworkers born in those years are just like any 22-23 year olds in the past 2 decades. They're responsible, punctual, mature for their age, and outgoing. Far cry from the apparent immaturity and stunted behaviour that some of you claim you see. I feel much more in common with them than I do with my actual Millennial coworkers. We grew up with the same shit. We're on the older side of Gen Z so it makes sense.

I mean yeah it's probably best to define Zillennials as 90s babies so they aren't part of it but let's not act like 22-23 year olds have more in common with 16-18 than 24-26. These current teens annoy the hell out of me but someone who's 22 shouldn't be grouped in with them for the sole reason of having a '2' in their drivers license. I mean I totally understand if you're '97 and feel weird about '03 but I cringe when I see '98/'99 act all "back in my day/these damn kids" when talking about '00/'01.

I mean I can't believe I even have to type this 😂. Imagine someone born in 89 defending 90/91 from 88/87.
