Salomon Sense Ride 5 sizing problems?

Hello I tried finally the Sense Ride 5 today as well as the Outpulse as I want versatile trail/road shoes. The Outpulse was good in size 45 1/3 aka 11 US, but the Sense Ride size was tricky, 45 1/3 was clearly tight both in lenght and width, the 46 (11.5) was good in lenght but I could still feel my toes compressed, in 46 2/3 (12 US) they were finally happy but the salesman said that it's too big. I asked him why, he said that my big toe limit is a thumb and hairline away from the border, with the size 11.5 it was just a finger. Personally I preferred the Sense Ride 5 confort while trying them and walking, the outpulse didn't bend as I like. So what do you think? Should I take the Sense Ride 5 in size 12 or 11.5? They are known to be a bit narrow on the toebox and so it's normal to take a size 12 while I usually wear 11 in the north face?
