Swollen IV site

My dad was in the ER Tuesday evening and he accidentally moved the IV a bit while standing up. This didn't cause any problems that day and the doctor said it looks fine. It's Saturday now and IV site is getting very swollen and now it also hurts. There's no discolouration and no discharge. Should we worry or is this normal?
