Being interesting as a man through texts?

So I tend to answer and ask lots of questions and try m best to be personal when answering and really thinking. I also always answer to everything. Sometimes (because whatever goes on on my brain) I wait a few minutes before answering because god knows why. Anyways, my friends keep telling me that I give women I date way too much attention and I should hold myself to keep them interested in me. Women, is there really some truth in this?
