Money is all that matters

My partner male (23) cares so much about money and it’s to the point where it’s money over everything. He says it’s what makes the world go round (which I do understand to an extent. He always whinges to me about money and whinges how all he does he work and he has no money but then tells me his money is private. Just to clarify I don’t care what he spends his money on or what he does with it, it’s just the fact it’s all he cares about and he is becoming very private and weird about it.
