Graphics/art style: semi-cartooney pixel art. Think of a 90s style pixelated discworld-cross-zoombinis
Notable characters: The main character had a giant nose, to the point where his entire face might have been a nose.
Notable gameplay mechanics: Classic point and click puzzle game with inventory and click to use-on mechanics.
Other details: I never got past the first level, but the first level was either in a blimp or some kind of airship. You could get a tooth from somewhere, and if you used it incorrectly your character would toss it up in the air and catch it. You could get into a basket hanging from a rope and soft lock. That's as far as young me ever got.
I've been trying to find this game on and off for about 30 years. Details are a bit thin because I was very young and terrible at video games, so I didn't see much of it.

Goblins 3? The first level is on an airship, and it has a tooth item which you use use on a basket to complete the level.
That has to be it. The airship, the face on the bow of the boat would be where I remembered the nose from, and the art style is right. And the tooth is obvious enough that child me would find it but I'd never get the rest in a million years.
It's hilarious because i knew about 1 and 2, but never investigated 3 because "the third game in a series would have to be too new", which is a ridiculous reasoning because 1993 is exactly the right time.
