I have just bought a new pair of 500 boots and on my third day of wearing I noticed a long and deep even cut. Can it be a manufacturing fault?

No
They have a very strict QA system. Also, the leather on the 500s is garbage since they moved production from Australia. Just got some of the LL Bean collabs which were more expensive but the best leather I’ve seen in a while. Also the 550s in “crazy horse” seem To wear far better than the brown 500s.
Bluestone is pretty good about returning if these are them.
Why wouldn’t you just reach out to Blundstone or who you bought them from?
Don’t think so, you probably caught something with your boot. There a big company… just try returning them
That’s a scratch
If I push the leather near the “scratch”, I can open it up and see the undyed white leather
Try to take them back. If that doesn’t work get a good wax and seal it with that. It shouldn’t affect the structural integrity of the boot. Nor its good looks.
My webbing started coming apart a month after wearing them and they wouldn’t replace, so I doubt they’d do anything for this lol
500 for boots ya got ripped bud ….
Hi all! I sent it back and they gave me a new pair. Super happy about it! Thank you all for the great advices!
Are they work boots or just casuals? I bought a pair of these several years ago, was outside winterizing tree’s with burlap the first day I had them put my foot down not thinking swiped across with an exacto blade to cut the burlap and slashed across the entire mid of the boot. It was much much worse then this, I sealed it up with superglue, hit them with mink oil once a month and the soles wore out before the leather let go however they were work boots so I wasn’t concerned about the look of them
