Discount/cashback comparison tool...
There are now lots of apps/sites that give discounts or cashback for buying gift cards. It's an easy way to save some money. The apps work on the following principle:
- They sell you a giftcard (they buy them cheaper than they sell them)
- You scan the giftcard at the till instead of using your debit/credit card.
- The app gives you cashback as a reward (you have magicked beermoney out of your essential spending). Some give a discount or a "boosted" gift card instead.
There are now lots of these services, and they all offer different rates. So here is a dashboard for finding the best rate for any specific retailer.

This link will open up a Google Looker dashboard that can be used to search for a specific retailer and it will show which gift card provider gives the best discount/cashback. As cashback rates change frequently, I will do my best to keep it up to date.

Airtime Rewards
What is it? Airtime Rewards is a "lazy cashback" app that gives cashback on a linked debit/credit card when you spend at an associated retailer (Boots, Greggs, etc). But they also offer a flat 4% cashback at many shops. The gift card section is found via the "More ways to earn" section of the menu. Cashback is used to pay off your mobile phone bill.
Can I stack the cashback with my cashback debit/credit card? Yes.
How Many Shops? The app features around 50 shops at any given time!
Refer a Friend Bonus? Yes. Get a £1 bonus when you sign up and spend at a linked retailer within 7 days. Plus, earn £1.50 if you refer a friend and they do the same.

BHN Extras
What is it? BHN Extras from BlackHawk Network is an employee discount scheme on prepaid gift cards. The rates can be quite nice, but you can only sign up if your employer is registered. Worth checking out if they are. You can also sign up for a bYond prepaid debit card that offers extra cashback at certain shops.
Can I stack the cashback with my cashback debit/credit card? Yes.

Cheddar
What is it? Cheddar is another app like Airtime Rewards, except cashback can be withdrawn in cash to your bank account. It offers automatic cashback, and the chance to get more cashback by purchasing giftcards. Useful for the automatic cashback, but usually beaten by everywhere else.
Can I stack the cashback with my cashback debit/credit card? No.
How Many Shops? The gift card section of the app features around 80 retailers!

Complete Savings
What is it? Complete Savings is a subscription-based cashback site like Topcashback and Quidco. You can only sign up to this site via an advert on partner retailer sites (e.g., eBay, Argos, Trainline). Whilst it costs £15/month, you get the subscription fee refunded each month if you use Complete Savings at the retailer you signed up via. Its famous for allowing members to purchase one £100 One4All gift card for £80 each month, and this can be used to boost savings at a load of shops to 30%.
Can I stack the cashback with my cashback debit/credit card? Oh yes.
How Many Shops? Over 100 for giftcards, and then too many to count for normal cashback.
Refer a Friend BonusNo. You can only sign up via an advert shown on sites like eBay etc.

HyperJar
What is it? HyperJar is a money management app with a prepaid debit card. Its free and they have just introduced the ability to get cash back on giftcards.
Can I stack the cashback with my cashback debit/credit card? No. Must use your HyperJar balance to pay.
How Many Shops? The gift card section of the app features around 60 retailers!

Jam Doughnut
What is it? Jam Doughnut is an app that specializes in selling gift cards while offering cashback. You can withdraw your cashback once it reaches £10 or use it to buy another gift card.
Can I stack the cashback with my cashback debit/credit card? Sort of. Jam Doughnut prefer you to pay via Open Banking. You can pay with a card via Goolge/Apple Pay. But i you do this, Jam Doughnut cuts the rate. So it's not worth it.
How Many Shops? The app features around 150 shops at any given time!

What is it? Onsi is a rewards platform for employees. But you can be an employee if you are an Amazon Flex driver which, obviously, we all are... It offers discounted vouchers for many places.

Pockit
What is it? Pockit is a prepaid debit card. It costs £1.99/month, but the first month is free. It offers a 7-8% boost on giftcards for Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco. With the debit card, you also get cashback at various retailers (e.g. Sainburys 3%, works on petrol; New Look 7%; Primary 5%). Thanks to u/Wifegone for highlighting this one!

Swipii
What is it? Swipii is (on the surface) a cashback app that lets you purchase gift cards and receive cashback for doing so. Cashback is in some strange cryptocurrency that can be used to buy additional gift cards. Higher rates can be achieved by first purchasing the cryptocurrency (topping up your balance), and then using the crypto to buy a gift card. It works and many of us here use it to get an 8% boost on gift cards, but I would strongly advice against leaving any cash on this platform.
