Unpopular opinion: There is no content in next weeks "content" patch.
First let me say this is not meant as an attack. I'm trying to hold devs accountable. The main highlights of this patch include a quest system, high roller reward system and some stat changes.
It seems like this quest system is very reminiscent of Tarkov's quest system which makes sense because in some ways the games are obviously a lot alike. The results of completing quests in both games acts as a means of progression with the vendors to unlock bigger and better options of purchase along with minor rewards for completing each quest itself. However you feel about this system, one thing should be made clear: THIS IS NOT CONTENT. The game is the same with or without this system. You kill monsters, loot chests and get rewarded for doing so. Its the same monsters, the same maps, the same chests, the same loot.
A common misunderstanding of the high roller reward system i've seen is that its part of the leaderboard, it isnt. The leaderboard will still exist and rank players similarly to how they were ranked before. The new system will be one made for progression through repetition, the more you play the further you progress along. Its a battle pass under a different name. You play a game, you get points, these points fill a bar, once you fill the bar so much the system spits out a reward. I'm not saying this system is bad, or detracts from the game in any way however it is NOT CONTENT. It does not change the game in anyway, you'll still be playing the same game in the same way.
The stat changes/splits have been championed by reddit for some time. Whether or not it will be effective in its goal or only imbalance the game in a whole new way all together remains to be seen. Its a systematic change for balance, not content.
We were told to expect various forms of actual content in this patch, all of which havent been delivered upon. I get it, things change, shit happens, sometimes you bite off more than you can chew but its disingenuous to call this a content patch while it obviously has no content. This patch was supposed to be the long awaited savior against dwindling playerbase and stale gameplay. I don't want devs to rest on their nonexistent laurels thinking players will be appeased. Now more than ever they need to be prioritizing and delivering content after missing the mark with this patch.
I can already tell you I'm going to get downvoted to oblivion for posting this, but its the truth. Everyone is honeymooning over the idea of an upcoming patch but I can tell you now they're all going to be super disappointed and complaining how bored they are.

Hey bud, think outside the box for a minute. If a quest asks you to kill X skeletons, or gather Y items and bring them to a vendor how is that any different than what you're doing now?
I'll give you a minute to process that, I'm sure your mind is exploding right now.
To be fair, the UI work is progress that they need to make towards the game being more complete. It's not much but, it is something and they should still do it.
Ultimately your OP here is spot on though, they aren't able to make content very quickly and ultimately... They need a lot more time to do anything worthwhile.
Looking forward to more character skins.
We got skeletons, can we get zombie skin?
Goblin skin?
Will there be a mini quest where I get to load in as a mimic?
It's early access enough to try some more drastic things like altered hitboxes, and something like goblins or dwarves that are dramatically smaller would be cool to see, and yet...
Lizardman doesn't even have a head hitbox accounting for a slightly different shape.
