Maid Of Honor Dropped Last Minute

I have no idea how to feel about this…we’re traveling to a destination wedding (Iceland) in December and while some people are spooked about the volcano, my photographer and news reports have assured me it will be fine as we won’t be in Grindavik.

So for her to drop because her parents are nervous about it and at such a last minute notice… honestly, I’m heartbroken. She’s flaky about travel so I wasn’t certain she’d go but then she bought tickets so I (stupidly) got my hopes up. I should have seen this coming. But I just hoped our friendship would be worth a little more than a last minute cancellation because she won’t stand up to her parents.
