After i finished Lords of the fallen, i started up Elden ring again. Dying in elden ring is more enjoyable then playing Lords of the fallen.
I understand that not everyone will agree, but i still wanted to write this. Lords of the fallen has so much wasted potential, so much it could and should have done but didnt.
During my time in lords of the fallen i really enjoyed Pieta's fight, it was a fun and challenging fight. But after that it was all downhill.
Bosses became weaker or unbalanced, dealing a lot of damage but having barely any health.
Most enemies are just buffed up copies from previous areas, rarely finding new enemies, unlike in elden ring for example.
Mini bosses turn into regular enemies resulting in a weaker then average mini boss, and an enemies with way to much health.
Certain enemies deal stupid amounts of damage leading to my game finishing character being oneshot from halfway across the map.
All NPC quests were broken in my playthrough.
All but 2 NPC vendors leave the skyrest to places unknown, or they straight up disappear due to a broken questline resulting in being unable to access any of the items they were selling or suppose to sell later.
Weapons are unbalanced. My setup deals insane damage to anything, while my friends setup is barely able to deal any damage.
NG+ scaling is just ridiculous, going from a playable game, to one where a thermonuclear device wouldnt even make a dent in the bosses healthbars.
Lag during autosaves that also happen in the middle of boss fights.
PVP is a 50/50 chance whether your up against someone far below your level, or one far above you. The winner being decided before the fight began.
Invasions being allowed while the player is already in the deathrealm.
Joining others for support putting you in areas you have yet to unlock, if it by some miracle works in the first place.
And to top it all, the endings. The endings are so pathetic. The endings are similar to a student quickly finishing the last few pages of a document just to get it out.
Devs, if your reading this, i will return to this game later. Maybe in a year or so. Please let it be a playable game, one that doesnt lag in the middle of boss fights and with reasonable pvp. A game where not every single questline breaks and where not all vendors leave the skyrest and die or dissapear at random points in the game.

I‘m not disagreeing with your points but It’s unfair to compare Elden Ring with Lords of The Fallen. I suggest to compare it with Lies of P instead, considering it was for both studios a complete new experience to develop a game in the soulslike genre
I had to double check this, but you are correct. I thought that Lords of the fallen 2014 and lords of the fallen 2023 were made my the same studio but they are apparently not.
For most gameplay and balancing id agree with you. But Lords of the fallen is also filled with bugs, like all the NPC quests being bugged, thats something that should have been fixed before release in my opinion. It doesnt need to be flawless but ALL of the quest being broken is stupid.
And vendors leaving skyrest is also something that they could have avoided by just thinking about the player experience.
Like: "Player goes for X build, so where can he find this ring?"
"So first, he goes across the map, to here, then one of the npc vendors leaves (without any warning), leaving a note to where he goes but he doesnt actually go there, then you go to one of the last game areas, then you can find him there and acquire this ring once you have been forced to have a whole build ready"
This logic is just really not fun to play. Also, the vendor in question is the Stomund. He has a key that is needed to open many doors leading to other areas, if his quest breaks and makes him disappears you just get locked out of all of those areas.
Something that also annoys the hell out of me is that in NG+ you get less and less vestiges. Which on its own is fair, interesting mechanic. But because the vendors scatter to all over the map, reaching any of them requires a stupid long journey sometimes just for a single item.
All little details that could have improved the overall gameplay, and that could have been found by like beta testers.
