Miyoo Mini+ Won't Recognize Save Data

Recently got my Miyoo Mini+ and have been playing Pokemon Leaf Green. Sadly, I started playing on the stock OS with stock ROM's. I luckily have a Lexar Micro SD card.

I encountered a known issue on the S.S. Anne where my rival fight would force close the game. I found a solution to update the ROM. I downloaded a new one and replaced the old one in the file system. I changed the name of the sav, srm and ROM to all match each other.

When I open the game, my save is not recognized, I get the "your save has been deleted..." message.

My save states do not work either. With the original ROM they get stuck at the opening screen. The new one obviously will not recognize it.

I have the original files saved as a backup. Do I have any way to recover this?

I have already come to terms with the fact that I will need to restart, so any good news is much appreciated!
