💬 Discussion / Question

Any good book recommendations for this period, it's pretty interesting. Especially the Desmond rebellions etc

The Nine Years War by James O'Neill is a good account of that conflict (O'Neill is also very active on X/Twitter).

Anne Chambers' books on Grainne Ni Mhaille (Ireland's Pirate Queen: The True Story of Grace O'Malley, 1530 - 1603) and her son Tibbot Na Long Bourke (Shadowlord: Son of the Pirate Queen) are worth reading.

If you like visuals, the Osprey Press Men-At-Arms series has one on The Irish Wars 1485-1603 by Ian Heath.
