i love this!!
Me too!
I remember this being taught to youth in the Mormon / LDS church when I was a teenager.
Horrible thing to teach anyone that they are worthless for any reason.
I know, I was taught this in grade 7, so I would be 13. I went to Catholic school.
In public school, in 6th grade, we were shown a video.
There's a woman giving a sex talk to older teens or young adults, don't recall exactly.
She gives the first person a really neatly packed gift bag, with pretty tissue paper and stuff. The speaker gives it to the person nearest her and tells him/her to open the gift and take everything out, then repackage it just how it was. Obviously, it ends up looking a little wrinkly and not as pretty or neatly packed as it was. Then they pass it from person to person, unpacking and repacking it. By the end, some paper has gone missing, and what's left is pretty tattered.
After the first time, the gift is already ruined, and the more it's given, the uglier it gets. The speaker points that out and then says something about how that's like your sex life. Don't you want to give your future spouse a beautiful gift? Not one that's been opened and tattered?
I definitely internalized that one.
WOW!! Amazing!!
This really highlights the disturbing aspects of this type of message
