I love getting lost in fantasy and sci fi worlds, but have been struggling to find new stuff that piques my interest. Here’s hoping y’all can help point me in the right direction! Here’s some stuff I already love and have read and reread:

The Expanse by James S. A. Corey is a none book series you may like. Starts with Leviathan Wakes.

Joe Abercrombie's First Law universe starts with The Blade Itself (better at GoT than GoT).

The Chestnut Man, Blood Orange, My Dark Vanessa, and The Last Housewife are fairly dark the way Millennium Trilogy was.

Ascendance of a Bookworm has almost 30 volumes so that's my favorite pick. Extremely slow burn. A modern woman died and wakes up in a medieval Europe inspired fantasy world. She was obsessed with books in her part life so had a fair amount of modern knowledge that she uses to try to improve the lives of those around her while trying to get/make a book of her own since only nobility own them here.

Anything in the "A Certain Magical Index" universe is also good. There are different series set in this world that cater to different tastes. Urban fantasy more your thing? Classic Index. Dark sci-fi go for A Certain Scientific Accelerator. This universe has both science derived psychic powers and magic fantasy elements. It has religious struggles as well as corrupt businesses and politicians. And since each series is so different, if you're not into one of those elements you can read another series and not worry about the parts that aren't your thing.
