I've been prepping my own land for hunting. Will getting a dog undo my work?

As said, I found deer trails on a corner of my property. I got permission to pursue deer onto my neighbor's property and have been setting that corner up as a bait spot. Next year, I'll be turning it into a food plot. It's just on the other side of my fence and the deer have been coming frequently at night.

The wife and I have been discussing getting a dog for a couple of years and were about to do that this Spring. The deer have been coming just to the other side of my fence, where the dog would be. Will having a dog undo the work I've been putting in trying to get the deer to come to me? Are there any breeds I can get or steps I can take to minimize their effect on the deer?
