Turian Sentinel: The Great Destroyer

What we have here is The Great Destroyer, a name chosen because of the song I had in my head at the time and also because this turian can take down anything. I was playing with this class in bronze and silver and dominating, getting 1.5x-2x the scores of others, but I'm not sure if it's gold/platinum-ready. You guys will have to let me know, I'm not the greatest at gold and platinum.

Link to the Build

Basics

This turian is built to be a tank, and while playing I've found that strafing and spraying groups is the most effective method. Tech armor is meant to not be detonated, but rather worn all match for the DR bonus. With the Typhoon equipped with an enlarged magazine and stability damper, it is best used full-auto until the clip is drained or until there is nothing to shoot at. Typhoons actually take 2 bullets per shot when its RoF reaches the max (when it 'spins up'), so keep in mind that while you have 180 pieces of ammo, only about 95 are going to be bullets. Your rifle is most effective and stable when in cover, but is very accurate when strafing and walking.

Powers

Your powers aren't meant to be used often, though its not a bad idea if you can use them as a reload cancel or sometime where you're not breaking your rifle's RoF boost. Overload is best used against bosses and not mooks. He's specced for damage and shield/barrier break down, and will dissolve most/all of their shields in one hit (bronze/silver). After using overload, use your assault rifle to take the rest of their shields (if there's only a little left) and start hitting their armor with a vital component: Armor Piercing ammo. It's recommended to take these in place of other ammo types because of the effectiveness against bosses and the ability to go through mooks, causing more damage and more hits when firing into mobs. On bronze, I can literally march up to an Atlas and stand still, cast overload, start firing, and have him down by the time he's close to taking down my shields.

Enemies

Cerberus

  • Atlases aren't difficult, but do require your full attention to eliminate them quickly with minimal shield damage.

  • Centurions go down almost as fast as Assault Troopers, they're not a problem.

  • Guardians are a piece of cake, they go down very quickly. Even if you opt to not take AP ammo, the Typhoon has built in AP that can go through light cover and guardian shields.

  • Phantoms go down fast if you can get overload off on them. Overload takes most/all their shields, and putting 6-7 bullets in them takes the rest of their health away.

Geth

  • The Geth are harder to play against, but their shields can still be taken down easily with the Typhoon.

  • Geth Pyros can be destroyed in seconds with overload/Typhoon, make sure you prioritize them and destroy them first.

  • Geth Bombers are still heavily reinforced, quick, annoying. Not much we can do about that. Casting overload should take down most of the shield, and waiting until it stops moving is a good idea to eliminate the rest of its defenses.

  • Geth primes are significantly easier than a mob of Geth Troopers. Just overload and shoot.

Collectors

  • Praetorians are a little difficult, as always, but can be can killed by extended combat.

  • Scions are annoying and should be prioritized if you're walking through the battlezone.

  • Swarmers are recommended killed using single shot on your rifle. It only takes up one bullet instead of rapid fire's two.

  • Everything else is easily killed.

Reapers

  • Banshees need 1-2 overloads to get rid of their shields, and should be shot at from afar or while kiting. The stability boost to the Typhoon makes it easy to fire on targets that are medium to long range.

  • Brutes just need to be shot at, nothing special here.

  • Marauders are somewhat more difficult than cannibals because they have enough shields to make an overload useful but are plentiful enough that the recharge time isn't worth it. Aim for their large head to drop their shields quicker.

  • Husks can be cut through easily with the Typhoon. It's easier to target them while switching targets, to get the few bullets that you miss between weapon swing into some sponges.

Footnote

I haven't written a guide before, so let me know if there's anything to improve on or add.
