"Re balancing" at the transport hub

📝 GUIDE

In the last update, kefir stated they balanced loot in certain locations. One clear example has been found at the transport hub. Drone parts are no longer guaranteed there.

I've run it twice since the update, and in both there have been zero drone parts.

Anytime you see kefir stating they're balancing loot, remember it means: taking rewards from the player. This is consistent.

A very rare item, which only is found in one location, in amounts of 2-4, that can be harvested every 2 days and is used in amounts of 20-100 (for mods), is no longer a given. This artificial scarcity that slows down an already incredibly slow game always feel like a kick in the nuts.

Let kefir know this decision to continually knee cap the player, in order to drive the player to a choice of waiting months, or spending what for some could be weeks pay is horse-shit and does nothing but drive players away.

Well said, Release. I couldn't agree more.

Kefir don't need you! How can you not understand it?
They only need paid customers who will buy the necessary resources for max amounts.
And free players will never be appreciated.

Yep, without question.

The slower they make the grind- the less work they have to do in terms of updates, the less $ they have to pay developers to add content, and the more money they make off impatient players. I doubt this game will ever not be in beta. Disappearing for almost 3 years and only coming back to a few new locations, an atv you need to pay for (and barely adds anything), a boat that barely does anything and a drone that unlocks 1 of those few new locations should’ve told me to just not bother- but here I am lol. They did do some work on that store though.. half of the things the community talks about/is waiting for to happen today, is the same shit the community was talking about/waiting for back 3 years ago. Like metal cutters, tungsten, all the bunker cards for C, Z, etc..i remember finally finding the super rare scuba mask back in the day and us talking about an underwater location. Now they have an unusable submarine and even a harpoon-and people asking about underwater locations lol

Yep, you nailed it. Players have have been asking for the same thing for YEARS. Each new player that joins has the hope, and excitement that something is just around the corner. And as I've mentioned many times, that's what kefir sells. The idea something big is just around the corner.

When in reality, they're slow as fuck, couldn't care less about the community - even those that spend hundreds/thousand are brushed aside.

If the impatient just stopped spending money... there might be a chance. They literally doubled the season pass cost, yet gave less overall, and it never changes. Players decided that to accept this, so instead of kefir having to test the waters and sneak in a 100% price increase, they just did it.

I hate the modern gaming landscape. But, I really love the game. Just sucks.

I would guess more and more players are doing what I’m doing, which is essentially nothing the last couple weeks. The content is stale.

Last two weeks my routine has been fill recycler and wood benches. Collect daily settlement loot, port and lab trades, Alfa for just tbo, motel. Maybe I do a raider task or trade in pd cards.

At this point that is all that seems relevant for me each week. When I’m really bored waiting for the wife for 30 plus mins I’ll go do transport hub, but that’s about every 7 to 9 days now. 30 mins in game is about where I max out before nothing else is worthwhile. Most days it’s about 15 mins.

2

Me too. I've just been building up resources to upgrade chests, increasing my charcoal, pine planks. Went to the hub after about 2 weeks today just to see if the settlement crate was there, it was. A month or so ago It was rarely showing up. Poor newbies coming in now. Hydraulic arms weren't showing up much either got 1 today though 🙃. Don't know if it's common now but there were no bloaters there today? I have a spare control card, due to me thinking I might of been able to open another crate at the same time 😬🙄😆. Nope, lofl. So, claiming daily loot for resin. I don't even pick up a lot of things now, engines, bearings, fabric, spanners cos I do alpha 2x a week 50 odd reds I've got plenty of clothes, like most og's I've gotten a bit staid now, so I feel ya man.

Yeah I noticed they dropped the bloater count my only trip since the update.

I got my 10th Atv transmission from the forlorn fair and I’m just one bravo event away from the two gas tanks I need. But that doesn’t even excite at this point. I don’t really even need to go over to the ash area. Maybe I’ll make a brick room, I don’t know. What kind of sucks is that now bravo is going to be pretty dead to me unless someone tells me I need gas tanks and batteries from the drone or something at level 4 in the settlement.

This is how it it has been since I've played. The only new content that hasn't changed is the Factory and Highway.

The Expeditions got harder when players were able to finish all 3 within a few weeks of that massive update.

The Transport Hub has been tweeked several times. Is there a game mechanics reason? I can not think of one other than again slowing drone mod progression.

We are left asking why. The obvious answer is money. I am not aware of a single mobile game that does not have this option and that is the way it has been for years if not a decade at this point. The model is about hooking a player into a free game and then introducing the micro transaction/loot box "paywall" in order to keep playing.

When you buy a console or PC game you pay to get your content and you have a good chance that the content isn't going to change under your feet. A few years back the micro transaction/subscription model was attempted and soundly rejected. Sure - there are some exceptions and of course any online game will have this because that is where it can be exploited fully - people will want to spend money to get an advantage over those who have skill or the time to develop the skill. This is why I stopped all online multiple games years ago other than running local servers for my kids and me to play together or by invite to friends. Still my youngest plays pub online and hasn't learned the people can be jerks.

So as a player you have to ask yourself what value is it for you to continue. How much are you willing to spend to continue? There are whales put there who spend A LOT because they can. You have to find your sweet spot and be OK with that. The amount of money you spend for time/amount of entertainment is a simple equation.

Getting upset will do nothing. Unless you are a whale and spend thousands of USD monthly you have no leverage.

Personally I am a PC gamer. I only got into this game because it showed up as an ad in another game. I still play that other game but I don't spend the money for a season pass there - I spend it on LDOE instead. Kinda ironic when I think about that.

Definitely. I haven't spent a cent on predatory micro-transaction horse shit, and I hate the loss of physical media. The modern gaming landscape sucks. Even with PC - pushing out half done bullshit games with zero optimization for increasingly high amounts. The greed of publishers is out of control.

Gaming makes up more worldwide revenue than movies and music combined. Of course it'd be taken over by increasingly exploitative models. The only way this'll ever change is if more players decide to not spend money on it. But yes, whales keep it going strong, and casual payers keep the cash flow expanding.

Well, one could argue that exploitation is a cornerstone of the free market but that would be another subreddit altogether.

It certainly would be
