Offers When Running Sales

Discussion

Hi. Wondering if anyone has ever had a weird or bad experience when running a markdown sale and getting an offer that is higher than the price of your item at the markdown price. I'm normally a "they pay, you ship" response type of person I was just wondering for opinions or experiences. Buyer deals in the same niche, electronics. It's just a fully functional VCR. TIA

Typically when someone offers more it is a scam. They will message you to make payment outside of eBay or some other scam.

You could always accept it and see if they send the usual scam message. If they do, block and relist. If they go ahead and pay through eBay, ship it out.

They ended up coming back and buying for the discounted price. it was after we had already taken items to the Post Office for the day so it will go out tomorrow. They paid right away and everything. it was just kind of weird, they may have not been pain attention to the difference in the pricing when they sent their offer.

One time, I was selling a poor condition electronic for $25 + free ship. An international buyer offered me $75 (plus shipping, this was before eBay started taking the shipping payment). I shipped it out because they paid for it and even ended up leaving a positive feedback saying it was great. Very strange.
