I don't know how to study anymore or even if i knew how to do it. Feel very uncertain about everything.
I'm a second year studying pharmacy.
I somehow passed my first year, here are the details of my exams:
- First 2 exams I was had high scores for, one was maths which i found easy due to being able to practise and the time as well. I had 2 weeks to prepare for the non maths one, spent a week creating anki cards, second week just spamming through them
- Rest of my exams I passed but my understanding is still trash: I tried to make anki cards, realised there was too much and I ran out of time to make the cards, so i ended up just using chat GPT to make questions for me and tried the blurting method.
I've continued to make anki cards straight from the lecture notes and power point slides, but I have no time to go through the cards because I'm behind on lectures due to being on placement and have a deadline coming up soon for coursework. I can barely remember anything from all the cards I have made.
Yesterday I tried out a new strategy of studying:
Feynman technique i think its called, the main part is being able to explain it to someone e.g. a kid or someone who wouldn't know these concepts. I do remember some of the things that I tried to simplify, however it was my first time trying this but also the concepts weren't very difficult. Problem with using this, is that I am scared of spending too much time trying to think of ways to simplify the concepts.
I'm stuck between trying to flood myself with cards which worked to a certain degree, or trying out a method i've never done before.
Any tips, advice, constructive criticism would be appreciated
