41 [F4R] East Coast/Online: Nerdy Extrovert Masquerading as an Adult Seeks Similarly Nerdy Virtual Friends for Hilarious Banter and Swapping Awful Dad Jokes
This went pretty well last time I did it and I met some pretty fun people (hello if you're one of those people!), so I thought I'd try it again (with some slight modifications). :)
Hello! It's nice to meet you! I'm a married mom of 2, and I've found that I'm just not in a season of meeting people IRL due to work and home life. I made a post on Reddit about a year ago (almost to the day! Weird) and, for the most part, it was awesome and I've met some fun people. This time could also be awesome, or could be an epic failure, but you'll never know unless you try, right?
At the risk of this sounding like a dating ad (which I guess meeting people with the intent to be friends is kind of like dating in its own right π€), here's a little bit about me:
*I'm a sunshine-and-rainbows type. Not in the toxic positivity kind of way, but in the way that is generally happy, upbeat, and energetic most of the time. I'm not this way all of the time of course, but I'm more likely to bring the sunshine than the rain clouds to our friendship.
*I love to read, mostly fantasy/dark romance, business, and neuropsychology. Need a recommendation? I got you, friend. I could talk about books ALL DAY. (Seriously.) Bonus points if you also love fantasy novels, have a brilliant imagination, and want to start a book club, because....same. :)
*I love to cook, and love trying new recipes. To me, it's an activity I can get lost in, a perfect blend of art and science that feels a bit like modern-day alchemy of sorts. (If the base materials were edible, that is.)
*I'm a social gamer who loves RPGs (currently playing D&D, World of Warcraft, and Baldur's Gate 3), puzzle/strategy games, and the like, mostly PC. A few girlfriends introduced me to MTG, but I haven't played much as much as I want to. I like it, though, and would like to check out Arena to see if it's something I'd get into. (Extra bonus points if you're open to teaching me how to play.)
I also love coffee, being creative, laughing at dad jokes, music, Greek mythology, tabletop games, indoor cycling & bootcamp-style workouts, am somehow still in first place in my Fantasy Football league, and am (almost always) down for an adventure. Politically I lean left, I believe in a higher power but I'm not religious, and love to use Would You Rather questions to break up the mundane part of our workdays.
So, tell me about you. Give me an awful yet hilarious dad joke. Tell me about the book you're reading, or maybe about the song you have on repeat. If you love to cook, what is your favorite go-to dish? I don't expect consistent, everyday communication (because life), but would love to meet people and say hi! π
