Unbelievable that this was $60

Insanity. The only partially good thing about this game is the special story. Which is not what I even got the game for.

After getting burnt out on Street Fighter 6 on Steamdeck, I really wanted a new fighting game to sink my time into and figured Storm Connections could be it. Even though the series isn’t as popular as it once was, I know anyone who’s a fan of anime is most likely a fan of Naruto. And anyone who’s an anime fan is most likely a gamer.

I never once thought for any reason I would have a problem finding games in a brand new entry to the Storm series, even if it was poorly recieved critically.

I was way off the mark. The game is not even a month old yet and only has 500 concurrent players on Steam. What is going on.

I’m barely able to find a match, and when I finally do, it’s someone who’s ranks above me. I end up not even being able to play because clearly they’re better than me and just stun lock me the entire game. You’re telling me the game couldn’t find me not one beginner to keep the playing field equal? ON RANKED?? And if I go to casual instead it’s a ghost town.

On top of that, when I do find a match, I get an insane amount of connection issues. I don’t know if 80% of the people I fought got so bored they left mid match, or if the game isn’t online-compatible with Steamdeck. It’s not my internet because everything else I play that requires a connection works fine.

This is I think the worst experience I’ve had with a game ever, no bullshit. At least it’s somewhat optimized well.
