Langley AFB and the 363 ISS

1D7 NCO that just got notice of a Q shred assignment to the 363 ISS at Langley. I got approved for the M shred a few weeks ago due to previous experience. I was hoping my career would follow the mission defense path so I’m on the fence about just denying retainability and separating or giving this random assignment a shot. Can anyone give me any input on this squadron and what sort of work I’d be doing? I’ve seen a lot of overlap through shreds on myvector listings.

Also, I’ve read Yorktown and Williamsburg are best for families so that’s where I would try to live. I’m also interested to know what kind of commute I’d be dealing with and if 2wd is good enough for winter driving. I’ve driven in snow a few times, but I’ve spent my whole life in the south so I don’t know what to expect in a place that far north. Thanks in advance!
