Little do they know Gen X can never afford to retire.
We're going to be working at least until we die.
I could retire now but I’m going to try to hold off until I’m 59.
55 for me. Husband is staying till 57 ( when I turn 55).
That’s great. I for one have just had enough.
Ah that gentle Boomer arc, so much shuffle board and idle harassment of Starbucks employees, so much leisure.
The GenX line conspicuously flat until it divebombs into the sea ('cause we're all DEAD).
Again, assuming that Gen Z really wants to "work".
"Want" may not even be a question at a certain point.
I miss the Boomers already. The amount of mistakes I see and increased lead times has never been greater.
What a...time...of my life. Oh well whatever, next.
Damn. I completely missed it. Unemployed for the whole time. Man, what a struggle that was. And still is.
Ouch. That sounds rough. I hope things are better now.
Sooooo... this is the graph that proves that people of working age are working, people of retirement age are retiring and people who are reaching working age are entering the workforce, right?
Correct, but also expresses the magnitude of those effects.
Our heyday came and went and I didn't even realize it. Oh well.
Meh….
