Why the pandemic is over
Although there might not be a date for when the pandemic ended, the pandemic really is over. We still have a year for when it ended, 2023. There are other pandemics like during ancient Egypt had that.
My reasons:
The government does not have guidelines. If it was still bad, they would.
The variants are more mild than the ones in 2020, and deaths are as low as February 2020, and the thing is the virus is widespread instead of spread only in a few thousand people. It's more like the FLU.
Most people can agree that it's over because according to the Gallup poll, and this was in November 2023, 70% of Americans say pandemic is over and even 60% of Democrats. This is a very high percent. And even for autistic people, the percentage of who think it's over is still a slimmer majority, with 51%.
Misconceptions:
COVID causes depression.
It's more how it was political and how it has changed our lives. We think that things are not okay and we have so much information. No! It's because we are worried and think life is basically useless now. If you have had other viruses, they have never done that. So why would COVID? Heck no! It did not.
Long-term effects.
Yes. COVID does do that, but it can be preventable by how much you sleep, eat healthy, and more. However, other viruses have done that also because of these factors. My sisters got asthma from RSV when they were young, but didn't sleep like they did COVID. They never got long-term effects COVID! This is the reason doctors tell us to sleep well. It does prevent health problems caused by sicknesses. The sickness used to be deadly and now the death rate has recently been extremely low for the virus. Also, it is important to be vaccinated though just like you do for the FLU and other viruses that exist. We should not be worried, because COVID is nothing like polio, smallpox, or other serious diseases.
