Rhinoplasty before jaw correction?

I have a misaligned jaw and, according to the orthodontist I consulted (who also charged an extremely high price knowing my insurance wouldn't help me), is causing the deviated septum I've noticed both physically and in an X-ray. Supposedly, getting braces for 3-4 years will correct it and other facial asymmetry, like my zygoma (which I have also considered getting reduced surgically).

I don't have an ugly nose, but my main concerns are:

  • The size of the tip
  • The height
  • The deviation (which does not affect my breathing)

Was the orthodontist just fearmongering so I'd hurry up and give him my money? She was talking up a storm about how getting braces would fix all of these aesthetic issues, along with my scoliosis. Should I wait on getting my rhinoplasty, or would it be more time-efficient to get it now? If I get it now, is there a possibility that the braces will re-deviate my septum? Also, I am 18.
