Probably a repeat question but does anyone have suggestions for bars before knockdown session?

Seeing the Sunday show is that makes any difference at all. Thank you reddit!

There isn't anything immediately outside Knockdown but the Jefferson stop off the L is about a mile south and there are a ton of bars there!

If you’re a beer person, KCBC is a great brewery off the Jefferson stop

Honestly I wouldn't drink before the show. There's something to be said for seeing them still relatively sober, then drinking as the show goes on, and going to the afterparty.

How young are LCD fans these days? I’m 45 so we drink two before and four during and are still pretty much crushing it, since our livers were trained on 1990s Liquid Cocaines and Long Islands, till you couldn’t see anymore. Contrariwise, if we did anything “really fun” we would have to start rehab the next day.

But I deffo would be sad to be so drunk I lost memory of the show. This’ll be just my fourth one and every time is transformative for me.

I've never reached a point in drinking where I have a prescribed number of drinks to have before and during a show... usually I'm totally sober until after. Prefer experiencing concerts sober, myself.

Not so much into friendly unserious banter eh?

Well you’re no Bruce Vilanch. 🥰

How old are LCD fans now? I drink one drink and I’m immediately hung over😂. Also, my neck, my back, my … shoulder, and my crack.

hahahahah so yea I woke up a bit rough the next day but it was nothing a liter of water, two Aleve and a bloody mary couldn’t cure.

show was amazing! Thursday crowd was really mid tho. I didn’t see one person cry when they sang Dance Yrself. Rude.

Assuming you're coming from the L and making the walk, Jupiter Disco is on the way and really cool, Honey's is also over there and is okay. If you wanted to start out a little further away, there's a place called Danger Danger that is pretty much in line with LCD as a concept, like I can't imagine a more appropriate bar to pregame at. It's a bar that's definitely aimed a bit towards dancing, but also has a really... intellectual slant? Pretentious in a good way? Huge focus on 70s-90s alt music, tons of Talking Heads-ish stuff, it's run by Attaboy, a really famous cocktail bar downtown, so the drinks are really well done, but still tailored to the different crowd that shows up here, they go late into the night to, so it could even be an afterparty if you wanted it to be.

We were gonna go to ECB but decided on Dock Asian Eatery instead, since the food looks good and they still have drinks. If you want bar food ECB looks good though.
