On the contrary, it's practically a bandaid fix with audio bugs like players not making any noise. Whether it be footsteps (like full sprinting), gunshots, etc.

Bush campers are an actual plague on the game. Visual audio makes it slightly bearable to fight.

I also like listening to music. Visual audio let's me listen to music and still be alert if something happens.

Call me a loser but I hope it doesn't go away. If anything it needs fixed because it doesn't work sometimes.

I really think that visual audio should be a supplement for those who are hearing impaired/no audio on and not be a near requirement to perform competitively. Even after a couple nerfs in the past year it is still just so overpowered in many situations to the point that a lot of players don't even use gamesense in close quarters combat and just stare at the indicator to find and shoot players. It's at the point it often makes it hard to tell when a player is using ESP/Wallhacks or not up close.

I agree but players love to let the game to hear for them so most would probably disagree

We're all cyborgs now.

I don't like it, personally, but it is definitely the way things are now.

I tried to hold off on turning on Visual Audio for all of Chapter 2... turned it on at the start of Chapter 3 and have never turned it off because it's too useful.

Yea I just feel like there are ways to balance it well in ways that would arguably improve it's utility while also removing the competitive advantages for the most part.

For example: Have visual audio only show the say 5 loudest audio cues in a given situation. This would somewhat accurately mimic that most people can only keep track of a certain number of sounds at once and allow people who are walking around in the middle of a gunfight to go mostly unnoticed the same way it would in an endgame or large midgame fight for example. This change would also buff visual audio in very cluttered environments where it currently becomes useless due to screen clutter & also potentially help with some of the FPS issues it has when tracking & displaying dozens of sounds.

I agree and have advocated for similar such things in the past -- it makes sense that Visual Audio should "wash out" some sounds just like real audio does.

I mean yeah visual audio is op. Its been op since it came out. It makes tracking enemies significantly easier.

As a deaf player I wholeheartedly disagree

I don’t like it either but it’s literally necessary with how god awful the audio is now. Literally cannot hear people right next to me, it’s ridiculous. I think it got this bad when they added custom footstep sounds for skins, which is something that should be completely client-side.
