I booked a roomette for my daughter and I to go from Chicago to Denver. I know the meals are included and lunch goes until 2:30. Will we get lunch at 2 leaving Chicago since it's the start of that train line? I just want to confirm so we can plan our meals and snacks.

The snacks are good but if you have time I would go get a real meal, in the station or nearby.
We did the Zephyr last year, coach, and brought some containers of food with us. I was planning to do it again but if we could cross off one more meal on the train... I'll be sure to pack food again.

This is a fantastic trip. We’re doing it soon as well. Random tips you didn’t ask for. Brace yourself for Nebraska at night. Rough rails 😁after Denver (or after breakfast) is a good time to head to the viewing car. Although, the Rockies go on for a GOOD while so you’ll be fine wandering up there later. The Reno stop has been long enough for a shower the past couple of times. Have fun!!

We actually did it in March - Zephyr from Chi to Den but we did it coach. Now we're going first class baby!

No, first meal will be dinner! When I was on the zephyr a few weeks back the first dinner slot was 5:30
