Quitting Drugs Messed Me Up
Ok so after about 8-9 months of using(weed every other day or so harder stuff on the weekends) I decided to try being sober for a few weeks to see what it would be like. For context the drugs I used were weed, alcohol, psychedelics(lsd, 1p-lsd, shrooms), ketamine, dxm, adderall, mdma, and occasional benzos(once or twice a month when I would have my worst panic attacks). I use basically whatever I have and was never addicted to a specific drug just the idea of using drugs in general. I decided why not try going sober for a while because I’ve had some important things going on in my life. I’ve been miserable the entire time. I haven’t relapsed on anything and have been fully sober for 18 days now. I genuinely enjoy nothing, everything feels like a stressor and nothing is fun anymore. Before I used to use to wind back and drugs never got in the way of anything important and never affected my performance in school. I’m very torn on what to do because I want to stay sober but I’ve felt so hollow and empty recently. I haven’t smiled or laughed about anything in days and I’ve been extremely depressed and angry and it’s starting to affect my school. I’ve been skipping class because I can’t find the motivation to do anything. I feel like getting sober is a good idea but I was so much more productive, happy, and functional when I was using. Life just feels dull and gray and I don’t even enjoy music anymore I just sit in silence. My psychiatrist and therapist who both don’t know that I use as well as my own family have pointed out that I’m “not myself”. I’ve also been getting extremely suicidal ideas constantly which I’ve never once acted on but the ideas are still present. I don’t feel any slower or dumber mentally, I feel the same as I was before drugs but I feel lost and hopeless. What should I do?
