Why does weather matter so much to some people?
I find reading this sub so interesting because a lot of the born and raised Californians and southerners site weather, specifically cold weather, as a big issue. I am from Chicago and living in the south now, and while it’s nice to escape the cold, I would never determine my long term living situation on weather. And I am someone who gets cold very easily and complained a ton at cold weather. For me, it’s a small factor because cities in the north have so much more to offer than weather in terms of culture, history, vibrancy, access etc. The cold weather never stopped me from loving Chicago and having fun there. It’s like ruling out a partner based on a weird haircut in my opinion.
