Any tips for making mallowmelt recipe less sweet?

My kid has asked for us to make mallowmelt but doesn’t really have a sweet tooth.

I usually just add less sugar than a recipe says, but with all the sweet ingredients I’m worried I’ll mess up the proportions.

And the ingredients are pricey ngl

Does anyone who’s a more experienced baker than me have tips on making it not quite so sweet!
