Building and editing.

I've tried building and editing a bunch of times but i never seem to get it. what i mean by that is my fingers and brain are getting confused even on the most simple thing like ramp rush, making a block or even just editing. I really like fortnite but im so bad at it meanwhile my friends are out there building skyscrapers when i am getting confused and killed in the mean time. What should i do to learn building and the game itself. Was your experience like mine? And what did you do to fix it.
