A girl gave hints, then blocked me

A girl in my junior college used to stare at me whenever we crossed paths, my friends suggested she liked me and i should approach her, i was hesitant because i didnt know if she genuinely liked me or not, i noticed her staring too and we even made eye contact a few times, sometimes she would look away, yesterday after alot of convincing from my friends i approached her when she was alone and her which stream she was from, i had to say hello 3 times cuz she had earphones on and couldn’t hear me, she acted/ was a lil confused and said science i asked what she took in the options and she said bio with maths, ME BEING THE DUMB ASS I SAID “maths in science too?” Idk why,she said yes. Then i asked her for her insta id, she acted/was confused again and asked me why in an confused tone, i said “just for friendship” and she gave me her id, i sent her a request and i introduced myself “my name by the way” and went for a handshake, she shook my hand but didnt introduce herself, while i was going back she asked in which grade i was, to which i told and and asked her the same. The thing is, my friends were convincing me to approach her just around the corner from where she was sitting and its a very silent area of the college, they are pretty loud too and i was very hesitant cuz i was kinda scared to make her feel uncomfortable, she could’ve heard that and changed her mind? She doesnt stare at other that way fs cuz my friends told me she just ignores them and only looks at me when we pass or we are nearby, the thing is i found it very weird that she acted all confused like she had never seen me before which is not true at all cuz she has definitely seen me 👌🏻, after that she accepted the request and followed me back too, i sent her a “hey” after 30 or so minutes but she didn’t reply for 6-7 hours, and she was online in between that period a few times, so i unsent that msg and told my friends, they told me shes playing hard to get and that i should msg again, so i messaged today morning around 11 she didnt reply again for 7-8 hours so i checked her profile and to my suprise i saw that she had blocked me, i thought she was cute and stuff but i didnt crush over her, it still makes me upset cuz i haven’t been rejected before and this was my first time approaching a totally strange girl ever.

What did i do wrong? Or she was never interested in me?

I didnt wanna creep her out by any means.
