Help! New player and idk where to go next!

I just started playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and this is my first DND-style RPG. I have explored the entirety of the first area (from what I can tell) and the game is directing me to go to the Mountain Pass. My party is only level 4 and the game is telling me I’m too underleveled to continue just yet but I am struggling to find other quests / mobs and not sure where to turn next. Any advice is really appreciated, thank you!
