Update: I did my consumer proposal, here's how it went

Debt

Hello everyone,

So in the end I did my consumer proposal, here's a tdlr from my previous post: I work for one (biggest) creditor, I had about 42k in consumer debt (financing, credit card ...) and I make about 55k a year.

I applied for a free consultation at 3 trustees/cpa at around 8pm on a friday. One of them called me about 5 minutes later and he did a quick budget with me, explained my options and the conscequences and told me this doesn't count as the free consultation. I was very impressed with how fast he called me and how he explained stuff to me so we scheduled a meeting.

He explained to me that he run his office alone thats why he can be readily available and he ran some numbers with my expenses etc and explained to me that the canadian government body that manage insolvency estimate you need 2600ish $ per months for 1 person to live alone. He said after doing my budget that we can offer 6000$ and we'll see what they say.

My credit score went from 711 to 608 (I was only making minimum payements on everything and from april to july I went from 788 to 699). The main creditor, my job, accepted the offer so i have to pay 6k in up to 60 payments.

I didn't lose my job either and no one from hr contacted me. The "classes" I have to take is 2 meeting of 15 minutes.

I would highly recommend doing a consumer proposal if you did some bad financial decisions younger to "reset" your situation.
