Methadone

I’ve been prescribed opioids for several years, but I’ve never really been able to get to what I would consider a therapeutic dosage to truly help quality of life. Tried fentanyl and Xtampza, but both made me incredibly nauseous and constipated to the point of not being able to eat.

I’m on hydromorphone 4x a day currently and it provides some relief. The other 8 hours of each day I have nothing, so it’s a roller coaster of pain levels each day and when the nerve pain is angry it’s just not enough.

Anyone out there care to share their experience with methadone? I’ve tried just about everything there is, so I will likely do this next. I currently have t been able to fill my hydromorphone script since Monday and have no idea when I will be able to. Won’t lie, seems a little weird to be taking methadone due to its traditional uses and I worry about getting red flagged in a pdmp.
