Wouldn't running an AC line into my cars intake improve performance?

Obviously this could only apply if I'm already using the AC anyway. If I had an offshoot also pouring cold air into my air box it would have no choice but to lower the temperature, or am I underestimating how much outside air is pushing through there? I do not believe I would regain as much performance as I lose by running the AC in the first place.
