DR Question

So I’m looking at Aeon’s Enforcing Gaze — Damage Reduction where I can get DR N/Chaotic. Obviously the majority of enemies in the game are chaotic evil. My question is will the DR be bypassed simply from the enemy having chaotic alignment or is it just the weapon only that must be able to bypass the DR?
