How far away can the solar orbs spawn?

I'm an area the area below the dragon and have spent the last 4 in game days trying to find this orb. I have cleared every single piece of trash in the area that opened up. I mashed myself against the wall for the entire area thinking maybe it's hiding behind something , or that there's a piece of garbage I missed . Nada. Is it possible it decided to spawn in the area before? Or that it's decided to spawn in the area I can't reach?
