Upgrading from 16GB to 32GB of RAM. They will not work together
###Troubleshooting Help:
What is your parts list? Consider formatting your parts list. Original RAM: Micron Technology 4ATF1G64AZ. Same one in this listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/225071588279. There are 2 8GB sticks
Upgraded: Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory CT8G4DFRA32A.
All 4 are 8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz. Listing for these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C4VHQV2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
Describe your problem. List any error messages and symptoms. Be descriptive. I have added all 4 sticks together initially, PC would not boot, blank screen. I tried the 2 new sticks in the original slots, worked fine, booted up. I tried the two old sticks in the empty slots, worked fine, booted up. I tried the two old sticks and 1 new stick, it booted up once into the BIOS, would not boot into Windows. These sticks work fine by themselves, but I cannot get them to work together. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

some systems simply can’t boot from more than 2 sticks of ram. even with the same size/speed/latency, the timings may be different and preventing boot. if you can, i’d suggest returning your new sticks and opting instead to replace what you have now with 2x16gb instead
Ah. So why does it provide 4 slots?? That makes it very confusing
because some systems can utilize all 4 slots. it’s more complex than i described (silicon lottery comes into play and cpu lanes, mobo’s, etc). at the end it’s really down to luck whether or not it works properly. especially on prebuilt systems
