Could I plug an Amazon shifter into my gt dd pro and make it work on ps5?

I was thinking that since the chip that makes the wheel base, wheel, and pedals work with ps5 is in the wheel base, why couldn’t I plug an Amazon usb shifter into the wheel base and plug that all into my ps5. I assume I would need an adapter to go from usb to the ports on the gt dd pro.
